There have been a countless debate on Dhoni’s place in the Indian Cricket Team. MS Dhoni greatly held as best captain ever and an explosive wicket-keeper batsman is fighting day-to-day to prove the critics incorrect that it isn’t his time to call it to quit. Considering IPL 2018, he had a great spell with bat and won the season. But he was seen struggling in England tour and Asia Cup. While critics are sure that it is his time to think of retirement, BCCI officials are confident on MS Dhoni till the 2019 World Cup.

Amid the speculations, Ab De Villiers has backed Dhoni calling him an irreplaceable asset of the Indian Cricket Team. The former South Africa skipper said, “You guys are funny. I will play MS Dhoni in my team every day of the year, even when he is 80 years old.”

Ab De Villiers was quoted saying when the interviewer asked him Dhoni’s replacement in the team since people are criticizing him and his form.

India is presently playing the ODI fixtures against West Indies in India. The top order Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma are scoring plenty of runs so the middle order isn’t receiving an opportunity to bat. MS Dhoni must be keen to get a chance and score some runs.

Also attacking wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant is included into the ODI squad against West Indies. Selectors are planning Rishabh Pant as an attacking batsman to play the role in last overs. However, MS Dhoni is still the No 1 choice for the wicketkeeper.
