Stephen Fleming Backs MS Dhoni, Says Big Stage Is Something He Is Looking Forward To

In spite of his dull performance in ODI’S this year, Mahendra Singh Dhoni resides as most look forward player for 2019 World Cup. MS Dhoni’s exclusion from T20 has raised a lot of speculations on his form, retirement and his strategy to play more. But Dhoni is flawless from his outlook that he will not quit ahead of the 2019 World Cup. Even the management is sure that Dhoni will play World Cup but his form has to bring into being.

Responding to all the queries related to MS Dhoni, Stephen Fleming said that the big stage is something MS Dhoni will target.

“I think India have enough options within their squad to include Dhoni because his strength is immeasurable. Watching him in the last IPL, his batting was as good as it has been,” Fleming told Gulf News.

“He needs to have the confidence to go and play like that in the One Day Internationals and I think the big stage is something he is looking forward to,” Fleming added.

Stephen Fleming has operated as CSK Coach. The Chennai Super Kings won their third IPL title right after their comeback. The players did well but it was Dhoni who mesmerized everyone with his finishing skills.

The Skipper of CSK scored 455 runs in IPL 2018 with a mind-blowing strike rate of 150. But he did struggle in England tour, Asia Cup and West Indies tour in India. Before World Cup, Dhoni will play few ODI matches against Australia and New Zealand. This is the tour he has to aim to demonstrate his role in the team for World Cup in England.
