Reports Rohit Sharma To Be Rested, Rahane & Rahul To Earn Up Call Against Australia

India will host the Australian Cricket Team for a five-match ODI series & two T20’s commencing from 24 February. The Australian Cricket Board will certainly go to find its best mixture while playing against India. Meanwhile, the Indian Cricket Team is in good touch. They won the ODI series against Australia in Australia and New Zealand. The Vice-Captain Rohit Sharma, who recently led the team in Virat Kohli’s absence against New Zealand, is likely to be rested.

According to some reports, selectors are spinning the players so that everyone can play and find their touch before flying to England. Ajinkya Rahane and KL Rahul are to be recalled for ODI series against Australia. Rohit Sharma is expected to be rested and Virat Kohli will return to lead.

Chief Selector MSK Prasad earlier in an interview with ESPNcricinfo, revealed that Ajinkya Rahane is a serious contention for World Cup. Ajinkya Rahane played his last ODI exactly a year ago against South Africa.

“I was a bit concerned [on Rahane’s form] during the England Test series, but he did well in Australia. Even in domestic cricket, he has been in form. He is very much in contention for the World Cup. What I mean to say is, he has not been ruled out. We want to see how he does in the near future,” MSK Prasad was quoted as saying.

The World Cup 2019 is just a few months away and every team is demanding to discover their best playing XI to earn the tournament. India, England, and New Zealand are picked to win the battle. But there are a few teams that may damage in near-term.
