Sushant Singh Rajput has attested that that Bollywood does welcome interlopers who don’t have any godfather in the industry. He is one of the rare Actors beside Shahrukh Khan, Akshay Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan who entered the industry without any connection and became a leading Actor. While SRK, Akshay, and Amitji are already successful stars, Sushant is an emerging star with some staggering films upcoming in his line. But the drive to the silver screen wasn’t laid-back for him.

Born and brought up in Patna to a Rajput family, Sushant’s family momentarily moved to Delhi after his mother’s death in 2002. Sushant was a student at Delhi College of Engineering but shortly he found his interest in dance. In 2005, Sushant was selected as a background dancer for Bollywood Award Shows.

Later he moved to Mumbai where he was introduced in some TV advertisements and he was spotted by casting team of Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms. Sushant featured in Pavitra Rishta as a Leading Actor. He played the main male lead for few years and it is one of the most successful shows of that time.

Following his fate, Sushant gave a tryout for Abhishek Kapoor’s Kai Po Che and got selected for the male lead. The movie was a success and this is how Sushant found a prominent place in Bollywood. After few films such as PK, Shuddh Desi Romance, Sushant signed MS Dhoni The Untold Story, a biopic movie on former Indian Cricket Team Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

MS Dhoni The Untold Story gave a much-needed admiration to Sushant. The movie was big box office success and Sushant earned his first ever nomination for Filmfare Award for Best Actor.

As of now, Sushant will be seen next in Drive opposite Jacqueline Fernandez, Chanda Mana Door Ke alongside Shraddha Kapoor, R. Madhavan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Kedarnath opposite Sara Ali Khan.
