BCCI Announces 14 Man Squad For First Two ODIs Against West Indies, Rishabh Pant Replaces Kartik

After his blistering 100 against England and 92 against West Indies in Test match, Rishabh Pant has earned his maiden ODI call-up. The hard-hitting batsman has mesmerized everyone with his hitting skills. He was the highest run scorer in IPL 2018. However, he has replaced Dinesh Kartik as the second wicketkeeper-batsman option. No wonder the selectors are testing both of them as the second wicketkeeper-batsman after MS Dhoni.

Today the selectors announced the ODI squad for the first two matches. India will play a five-match ODI series against West Indies.

The 14 man ODI squad includes Virat Kohli (Captain), MS Dhoni (W/K), Rohit Sharma (Vice-Captain), Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Ambati Rayudu, Rishabh Pant, Manish Pandey, Mohammad Shami, Ravindra Jadeja, Khaleel Ahmed, Shardul Thakur, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Kuldeep Yadav.

Key bowlers Jaspirt Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are resting while Hardik Pandya is injured.

Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan scored plenty of runs in the Asia Cup. Ambati Rayudu too had a good time with the bat that is why he is being considered for No 4 batsman.
